Why DTF?

Direct-to-Film is the most versatile heat transfer method available. Print any design, any number of colors, and apply it to almost any garment — no minimums, no screens, no weeding.

    CMYK + white ink prints any artwork — gradients, photos, fine detail, and bold color all on one sheet.

    Cotton, polyester, blends, denim, fleece, nylon and more. No special garment treatment required.

    Thin, flexible film with a soft finish that stretches with the fabric and survives the wash.

Artwork guidelines

  • Save as PNG with a transparent background
  • Minimum 300 DPI at print size
  • Knock out as much background color as possible for the softest hand
  • We print the file mirrored and ready to press — let us know if you do not want it flipped
  • Avoid transparencies / drop shadows fading to clear (they print as dot patterns)
  • Files are printed exactly as submitted — no changes after order is placed

Pressing instructions

  1. 1

    Pre-press

    Pre-press your garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

  2. 2

    Align

    Place the DTF transfer on the garment, printed side down.

  3. 3

    Press

    265–285°F (130–140°C) for 10 seconds with medium-firm pressure.

  4. 4

    Hot peel

    Peel the film off immediately while still hot.

  5. 5

    Re-press

    Optional: cover with a Teflon or parchment sheet and press again 5–10 seconds for extra durability.
